How billing works

Invoices are issued on the first of each month and are due by the end of that month. Tuition is paid month-to-month across the ten months we are in school. No long-term contracts.

Scholarships & financial assistance

We set aside a dedicated pool of scholarship funds each year, and those funds are currently fully committed to enrolled families. Each summer we check in with every scholarship family, and when a family's financial situation has improved, their award is reduced. That is the only time new scholarship funds become available.

Class Size & Openings

Small by design, mixed by design

Every studio works like a modern one-room schoolhouse: an intentionally small, mixed-age community where younger learners learn from the older ones and older learners grow by leading. Openings shift throughout the year as studios grow. We'll cover current availability for your child's age on the introduction call.

Is your child over 12?

We don't typically enroll learners over the age of 12. Our older studios come with a great deal of freedom, and learners who grow up at Wonder earn it gradually, year after year. Stepping into that much freedom all at once, especially from a traditional school, is a hard jump for most kids. We make exceptions for older learners who are highly self-motivated and independent.

School Calendar

2026–2027 School Year

Our school year runs August to May, organized into seven sessions of three to six weeks each, with a break between every session.

Learning Differences

Can Wonder support my neurodivergent child?

We get this question a lot, so we want to be upfront. Wonder is a learner-driven school built around independence, and for many learners with ADHD, autism, or other learning differences, that self-paced, hands-on environment turns out to be a genuinely good fit. We can accommodate minor learning differences within it. What we can't provide is dedicated one-on-one support. If your child requires one-on-one help to succeed, we aren't equipped to serve them well, and we'd rather be honest about that now than have you discover it later.

Health & Safety

Secure Building

All external doors are locked at all times, with security cameras monitoring both the interior and exterior.

On-Site Security

Dedicated security personnel are present during school hours.

Multiple Exits Per Room

Each room has multiple entries and exits, ensuring safe movement throughout the building in any situation.

Emergency Drills

We regularly practice procedures for tornado, fire, and active aggressor scenarios so everyone is always prepared.

What About Sports?

Can my child still participate in sports?

Wonder doesn't offer an in-school sports program, but Kansas law provides that if your child's school doesn't offer sports, they may play for the school district where your primary residence is located. We currently have multiple learners playing basketball, volleyball, and cross country alongside their Wonder education.

What About College?

Will my child be prepared for college?

Wonder produces a full transcript just like any other school, a standard requirement for college admission. Our graduates also leave with a minimum of six real-world apprenticeships and a portfolio of work to present to admissions staff. As part of the 300+ Acton Academy network, our learners have been accepted at institutions ranging from Ivy League universities to state schools to community colleges, without exception.

How Is Wonder Different?

What makes this different from a traditional school?

Self-paced mastery instead of one-pace-fits-all. Badges earned by demonstrating mastery instead of letter grades. Guides who ask questions instead of teachers who lecture. Quests and apprenticeships instead of worksheets. Learners here take real ownership of their education, working on real projects that develop real skills in preparation for the real world.
